I have also come to realize that sometimes, we can get to know ourselves better, and that much needed lessons can be learned, others' objectives may be heard, different methods of understanding may be seen:
All by listening and witnessing the thoughts and actions of those around us...
It's all very powerful and it's all very interesting.
And I happen to think that it is absolutely necessary to succeed in this life--even as much as I did not believe that as a child.
I am into my third month of Student Teaching in the art classroom of Mr. Kenneth Callaway at Lithia Springs High School. I spend my days directing my students in their individual projects and leading them towards the achievement of using of their expressive minds to the utmost, helping them to develop stronger skills and knowledge about the creative process...
It is quite an honor to be working with a man of such skill and experience.
I am really blessed and feel that it is my duty to strive for the amount of joy and appreciation that he gets out of his job. I need to learn to take one day at a time, to plan ahead, to be thankful for the skills I do have and for the skills I will gain, and also, to be a better listener. Sometimes it is hard not to have selective hearing.. I have learned that through my experience here.
I need to listen. And to learn.
